Following on the success of "BUILT FORD TOUGH LIVE….. AT THE SEMA SHOW," the Ford Motor Company will encore the fast paced build-it-while-they-watch format at the upcoming 2003 SEMA International Auto Salon to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, California April 25 thru 27. The star of the show is the Ford Focus ZX5, and the program is appropriately called "FOCUS ON PERFORMANCE LIVE…..AT THE SEMA INTERNATIONAL AUTO SALON."
Performance West Group will be orchestrating the live on-stage vehicle build-up in the Ford Exhibit. "FOCUS ON PERFORMANCE LIVE…..AT THE SEMA INTERNATIONAL AUTO SALON" will vividly demonstrate the adaptability of the Focus ZX5 to a wide range of aftermarket products that will transform this hot new vehicle into a no-holds barred tuner car during the three days of the show. The event will begin following the Ford press conference on Friday, April 25. The companies chosen to participate in the event will complete the transformation prior to the conclusion of the show on Sunday April 27, dramatically highlighting Ford's ever increasing partnership with SEMA member companies.
The Focus was born to be a tuner car and "FOCUS ON PERFORMANCE LIVE…..AT SEMA INTERNATIONAL AUTO SALON" will demonstrate how this popular vehicle can easily be transformed from stock to "ultimate tuner" with existing and readily-available aftermarket products.
An impressive list of manufacturers will be participating in this event, comprising a virtual who's who of the aftermarket companies that are burning the midnight oil in the quest to create new products for the red hot tuner segment. The nearly three dozen product installations that comprise "FOCUS ON PERFORMANCE LIVE…..AT SEMA INTERNATIONAL AUTO SALON" will range from the complexity of the Centerforce high performance clutch assembly to the ease of installing a complete Xenon ground effects package. The "everything in between" includes a custom Sony Xplod Sound System, Stainless Steel Brakes Corp upgrades, a Nitrous Express nitrous system, Borla Cat Back Exhaust System, Konig alloy wheels, and body graphics by Modern Image. The program coordinators did not take the easy road in the product selection-the goal was to create a tuner car that not only meets, but surpasses the tuner culture's expectations……. and do it in just three days!
The LIVE format combines the suspense of reality TV with the practicality of Shade Tree Mechanic. Each segment will include a team of manufacturer technicians doing the installations and a spokesperson for narration and audience questions.
