BUILT FORD TOUGH LIVE…..
AT THE SEMA SHOW"
First-of-its-kind event increases bond between SEMA members and Ford
Master magician David Copperfield would be impressed when America's best-selling
pick-up truck is transformed into the ultimate dream truck before a live
audience of over 80,000 people at this year's Specialty Equipment Market
Association (SEMA) Show.
Performance West Group will be orchestrating a four-day live customization
called "BUILT FORD TOUGH LIVE…AT THE SEMA SHOW." Featuring
a new 2002 F-150 SuperCrew, the event begins following the Ford news conference
at the show on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 9 a.m. PST. The companies chosen to
participate in the event will complete the transformation prior to the
conclusion of the show, dramatically highlighting Ford's partnership with
SEMA member companies.
"We are excited to take the number one selling pick-up truck and
transform it into fully accessorized vehicle," said Larry Weiner
of Performance West Group. "Ford has really embraced the aftermarket
and provided easily accessed valuable vehicle specification information
so SEMA member companies can do their job more effectively and bring products
to market sooner."
The F-150 SuperCrew will be equipped with a full range of accessories,
including a supercharger, sunroof, custom leather interior, audio and
video entertainment, and of course, wheels and tires. All of the customization
will take place on Ford's show stand and will be broadcast on a large
video screen. "BUILT FORD TOUGH LIVE….AT THE SEMA SHOW"
will be an interactive event that is sure to capture the attention of
everyone who attends the SEMA SHOW this year.
The SEMA Show, the automotive aftermarket's Super Bowl, is a four-day
exposition and deal-making forum with over 1,300 exhibitors and over 80,000
industry professionals covering 1.2 million square feet at the Las Vegas
Convention Center. Ford and other automakers have expanded the show's
reach by introducing new products and hosting international journalists.
"It's a proven fact that many people purchase certain vehicles because
of the availability and ease of installation of aftermarket components,"
Weiner said. The "BUILT FORD TOUGH…..LIVE AT THE SEMA SHOW"
Program will speak volumes about the adaptability of the Ford F-150 to
accessorization."
